The Offspring (anciennement nommé Manic Subsidal) est un groupe de punk rock américain formé par Dexter Holland et Greg Kriesel (Greg K) en 1984 à Huntington Beach, en Californie. ils réalisent en 1993 leur plus gros succès, l'album Smash en 1994. Porté par des tubes comme Come Out and Play, Self Esteem et Gotta Get Away, l'album fut celui le plus vendu au monde pour une production sur un label indépendant avec 16 millions d'exemplaires écoulés. Smash continue toujours à se vendre quinze ans après sa sortie et est certifié disque de platine six fois aux États-Unis.
