« Jour 1 : fête nationale américaine et 3h24 d'un concert Exceptionnel que seulement le "Boss" se faire !!! Incredible night! C’est la nouvelle tournée "Wrecking Ball", qui succède à celle extraordinaire du 2009, la première sans Clarence "Big Man" Clemons, mais avec la présence de son neveu au saxophone. Le 6 mars de cette année est sorti le dix-septième disque de Bruce, qui donne son nom au Tour. Depuis "The Rising" (2002) Springsteen n'avait pas fait un album si compacte et ferme, du moins parmi ceux publiés aux côtés du E Street Band, après la réunion. Un album que nous attendions plein de rage, bouleversant... et nous l’avons obtenu grâce à l'aide de la crise économique. La première chose qui frappe, c'est le format de l'album, la taille est inhabituel par rapport à la norme Boitier/CD en commerce: même largeur standard mais plus de hauteur et 'épaisseur (horrible pour le classement). Une forme qui voudrait contribuer à exprimer une signification. Sur la couverture on peut apprécier le sourire de Springsteen qui regarde vers le bas fier de montrer sa guitare Telecaster. C’est un concept album de qualité, dont le titre est tout un programme, dans l’esprit de "Seeger Sessions", avec une E Street Band qui semble avoir un rôle beaucoup plus marginal que d'habitude, qui vous frappe comme une boule de démolition pour son réalisme. Les fans les plus irréductibles le jugerons avec l'habituelle touche de snobisme car le vrai rock semble absent pour favoriser le folk, country, blues et gospel, alors que la presse finira par l'accepter comme un autre chef-d'œuvre en mettant l'accent davantage sur la signification des textes (beaux et toujours aussi directs et sans équivoques) de cette Amérique d’aujourd’hui que sur le contenu musical. Wrecking Ball n'est pas (malheureusement) un disque de rock, au moins dans la conception de Born to Run, mais il est plus proche de "Pete Seeger Session" et aussi à "Nebraska" à certains égards. Ce n’est pas possible et c'est injuste d’évaluer cet album en le comparant au meilleur de la production passée, mais il me semble plus honnête d’écrire que c’est un grand disque du Boss, inspiré et mature, avec un certaine héritage du passé récent. Le cœur dit quatre étoiles mais la raison impose légèrement moins. "Wrecking Ball" est un chapitre à part de sa splendide discographie mais qui pourra être jugé surement en live ce soir au POPB, affichant complet depuis plusieurs mois.20h36 :

Bruce Springsteen, est un chanteur et auteur-compositeur américain du New Jersey. Ses premiers pas dans l'univers du rock lui valent son célébrissime surnom « The Boss », en raison de sa passion pour les motos. Il commença à enregistrer avec le E-Street Band en 1973 mais ses deux premiers albums passent inaperçus. Le troisième intitulé Born To Run sorti en 1975 remporte au un énorme succès. La légende est en marche et chaque concert de l’artiste y contribue mais la renommée lui vient de son album aux millions d'exemplaires Born in the USA (1984), et la tournée mondiale à succès qui l'a suivi. Le 2 octobre 2007, jour de sortie de l'album Magic, Springsteen entame une nouvelle tournée mondiale avec le E-Street Band. Dans le célèbre magazine Rolling Stone il figure à la 23ème place des plus grands artistes de tous les temps. Dans un récent sondage, les lecteurs de ce même magazine l'ont élu plus grand performer de l'histoire du Rock'n Roll.
